Vola Siwakoti is a passionate community activist and an esteemed leader dedicated to fostering social change and cultural development. He resides in Liberty Township with his family and is pursuing a PhD in Business Administration from the Swish School of Business Management, expected to graduate in 2026. His professional role as Regional Manager at Cornerstone First Mortgage complements his longstanding commitment to empowering communities through various initiatives.

Vola Siwakoti’s journey as a social and community activist began in 1996 when he volunteered as the regional representative for Social Volunteers Against Aids. This early involvement ignited a lifelong commitment to social causes. From 1998 to 2000, he continued this trajectory as a volunteer student activist coordinator for the Literature Council of Bhutan, Sanischare chapter student wing. His leadership potential flourished as he took on additional roles, including Reporter and Camp Coordinator for The Reporter Monthly magazine and Ross Class SC UK from 1997 to 2003, allowing him to shape and influence the narrative surrounding community issues.

In 2002, Vola solidified his influence in the media landscape by joining the Bhutan Press Union’s board as General Secretary, a position he held until 2009. He also contributed to the cultural and literary sector in various capacities, including being a board member of the Nepali Gazal Eastern Development Region from 2002 to 2004 and serving as Chairman of the Damak Multiple Campus from 2004 to 2006. His dedication to the Bhutanese community is further emphasized by his role as a Founding Member of Bhutan News Service (2004-2008) and the President of Bhutan Gazal Manch (2004-2006), showcasing his commitment to fostering a rich cultural dialogue.

Vola’s commitment to literature and culture is evident in his positions as General Secretary of Bhutaneseliterature.com (2009-2011) and Secretary of the Global Federation of Nepali Literature (2010-2013). During the same period, he served as the Press and Publicity Secretary/Spokesperson for the Literature Council of Bhutan, amplifying the voices of Bhutanese authors and poets. His leadership capacities were further extended as Chairman of the Kansas Bhutanese Community Foundation (2010-2013) and Founding President of Chhanda Alankar, an organization dedicated to cultural enrichment, from 2014 to the present, ensuring that the cultural heritage of his people is preserved and promoted.

Vola’s dedication to community building in the United States is reflected in his role as Managing Director of Building Community in New Hampshire from 2017 to 2018. His contributions to the International Nepali Literary Society as a Life Member and Central Executive member (2014-2016) highlight his ongoing commitment to serving the Nepali diaspora. Vola actively seeks to bridge cultures, inspire future generations, and promote the rich traditions of the Bhutanese and Nepali communities. ​Vola Siwakoti is a beacon of hope and progress, using his platform to uplift and empower those around him while fostering meaningful change through collective action.
