Lakpa Dorji Tamang is a dedicated member of the Board of Directors at the Bhutanese Community of Cincinnati. Mr Tamang is contributing to various initiatives within the Bhutanese Community of Cincinnati. Born in Tshering, Bhutan, Lakpa’s journey significantly transitioned in 1992 when he moved to Nepal with his parents and siblings. He spent nearly two decades in the Sanischare Bhutanese Refugee Camp in Morang, Nepal, from 1992 to 2011, where he developed a strong sense of community and resilience.

In 2011, Lakpa relocated to the United States, initially settling in Manchester, New Hampshire, before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2015. He has since established himself professionally as an insurance agent with My Compass Group Inc., a position he has held since 2023, following his previous role at AS Insurance Agency starting in 2022.

Lakpa’s educational background includes incomplete studies toward an associate degree, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is actively involved in social volunteering. He contributes to the Buddhist Society of Cincinnati Ngyur Shedi Pemi Ling (BSC-NSPL). He engages with the BCC, collaborating with a dedicated team to support community outreach and
welfare initiatives.
